  Laser Photonics LLC has announced the completion of its state-of-the-art application processing lab, where clients and potential customers can send their product as samples to be processed by a specific laser system.
• LAI partners with Dutch aerospace manufacturer
  LAI's partnership with Stork Fokker is for the manufacture of F-35 fighter jet parts.
• Laser etching joint venture formed
  Echelon Laser Systems is a joint venture between Masonite and TechnoLines, LP, an innovator in laser etching technology.
• LAI wins contract for gas turbine product launch
  LAI International has won a manufacturing contract to produce precision-machined gas turbine components.
• Grad students have opportunity to attend ICALEO for free
  The National Science Foundation has provided a grant to the 27th International Congress on Applications of Lasers & Electro-Optics to enable U. S. graduate students the opportunity to attend the laser materials processing conference on October 20-23 in Temecula, CA
• Aerotech opens full-service subsidiary in Japan
  Aerotech Inc. announces the opening of Aerotech KK in Tokyo to provide application engineering, sales, and customer service for Japan as well as support for customers and sales channel partners in the greater region
• LML purchases advanced laser tool from OpTek Systems
  Laser Micromachining Ltd. (LML) Denbighshire, UK, has recently purchased a TX6400 fully integrated laser machining center from OpTek Systems Ltd., Abingdon, UK, sister company to OpTek Systems Inc., Greenville SC, USA. LML was looking to enhance its high quality laser manufacturing capabilities.
• IPG awarded contract to supply fiber lasers to German automaker
  IPG Photonics Corp., a manufacturer of high-power fiber lasers and amplifiers, has announced that its German subsidiary, IPG Laser GmbH, has received a major order for multi-kilowatt, continuous wave Ytterbium fiber laser systems totaling 63kW in power from the BMW Group in Munich, Germany.
• Boeing, EOS, Evonik, MCP HEK, U. Paderborn form Direct Manufacturing Research Center
  Boeing, EOS Electro Optical Systems, Evonik Industries and MCP HEK Tooling have signed an agreement with the U. of Paderborn to form the Direct Manufacturing Research Center (DMRC). The four founding companies will invest a total of 2 million Euros over the contract period of 5 years. Additionally, the university will contribute 600,000 Euros.
• Huffman Corp. adds Robert Wagner as laser business development manager
  Huffman Corp. announced today that it has added a key resource to their team to address the growth in the gas turbine manufacturing, aerospace engine and medical markets. Robert Wagner from Liberty Township, OH has joined them as their Laser Business Development Manager.
