• ACI Laser offers "entry-level" laser labelling device
  ACI Laser, Thuringia, Germany, is offering a diode-pumped, solid-state laser as an 'entry-level' laser labelling device. The company said that the low investment costs will make the laser tool even more attractive for all kinds of marking and labelling tasks.
• Gentec-EO's website is now available in Chinese
  Gentec-EO has just put online a Chinese version of its website. This version comprises a complete listing of all Power and Energy Detectors and Monitors and Laser Beam Profilers in simplified Chinese. You will find this version at http://chinese.gentec-eo.com/cn.htm.
• Joining Technologies installs TRUMPF Laser Cladding System
  Joining Technologies (East Granby, CT) is preparing for the installation of a TRUMPF Laser Cladding System. Working collaboratively with TRUMPF Inc. (Farmington, CT, and Plymouth, MI), Joining Technologies was able to procure the newest industrial laser cladding system available for developmental and sub-contract services.
• IPG expands product line with novel patented CO₂ gas laser
  IPG Photonics has announced that it has developed an advanced new family of CO₂ gas lasers that will allow the company to enter new markets and applications. The first generation of IPG's CO₂ gas lasers, with output powers from 1 to 3 kW and operating in the 10.6 micron spectral range, are reportedly more efficient and compact than conventional CO₂ lasers now on the market, and can be used for processing nonmetal materials.
• LIA's Guide to Laser Cutting, 2nd Edition, is now available
  The Laser Institute of America (LIA) now is proud to announce the all-new LIA Guide to Laser Cutting, 2nd Edition (ISBN #978-0-912035-16-1, LIA Pub. #122). This guide is appropriate for all companies involved with laser manufacturing, whether expanding or entering into laser cutting enterprises.
• UK students' models manufactured more quickly with new laser
  The William Parker School in Daventry, UK, has recently purchased a Universal Laser VL200 system from ES Technology Ltd. to enhance the manufacturing facilities and learning experiences of students participating in the Design Technology component of the school curriculum.
• 3rd Int'l Conference on Rapid Manufacturing to be held July 9-10 in the UK
  Following the success of the 2007 International Conference on Rapid Manufacturing (RM), which was attended by over 150 delegates from 18 countries, the 2008 RM conference is set to take place on July 9-10. The conference will be hosted by the Rapid Manufacturing Research Group at Loughborough University in the UK and take place in the Sir Denis Rooke Conference Centre, Holywell Park.
• Koike Aronson's open house to be held May 16-17
  A two-day open house marking completion of a $4 million expansion at Koike Aronson Inc.'s Arcade, NY, plant will be held May 16th and 17th.
• IMRA America breaks ground for expansion of its Ann Arbor, MI, facilities
  IMRA America, Inc. (IMRA), a developer of ultrafast fiber laser technologies for commercial applications, hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on May 12 for the addition of a fourth building that will nearly double the size of its Ann Arbor, MI, facilities. In addition, the company held a ribbon cutting ceremony on the same day for its newly expanded cleanroom facility.
• Epilog Laser Releases 'Guidebook to Starting Your Own Engraving and Cutting Business'
