• LAI wins $650,000 contracts for jet engine combustor assemblies
  LAI International Inc., a supplier of precision components and subassemblies for OEMs, has been awarded multi-year contracts for manufacturing combustor components in jet engines.
• Powerlase develops laser for green laser annealing in AMOLED screen manufacture
  Powerlase Ltd. has announced the development of a 400G laser for green laser annealing (GLA) in active matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) screen manufacture.
• EuroBlech 2008 ends on a positive note
  More than 69,000 visitors attended EuroBlech in Hanover last week
• Bystronic glass and Jenoptik enter into cooperation arrangement
  Bystronic glass and the Laser Processing Systems business unit of Jenoptik's Lasers & Material Processing Division will bundle their expertise in production facilities for thin-film solar cells. The corresponding cooperation agreement was signed at the glasstec 2008 trade fair in Dusseldorf yesterday afternoon.
• EuroBlech, Day 3: Part 2
  Today, Thursday, in Hanover, while the Asian stock markets are plunging 5 to 7% in reaction to very negative news concerning potential global recession, the crowds entering EuroBlech seem oblivious.
• EuroBlech, Day 3: Finishing up at Blech
  Part 1: The third day of the five day EuroBlech 2008 was almost a carbon copy of the second. Hoards of people thronged the aisles, especially in Halls 11 to 13, which have the largest concentration of industrial laser exhibitors.
• ProLas opens sales office in Korea
  ProLas is strengthening its activities in Korea by opening a Seoul sales and service office for its laser welding applications.
• EuroBlech, Day 2: Fiber lasers pop up at show
  EuroBlech has a reputation for showing innovative products for fabricators. For industrial laser suppliers, the show offers the opportunity to introduce new systems, typically to the chagrin of competitive suppliers.
• EuroBlech, Day 1: Show opens on a high note
  Yesterday, EuroBlech 2008 opened its 20th anniversary show in Hanover, Germany, on a high note. More than 1500 exhibitors from 38 countries filled 7 halls totaling almost 90,000 square meters with products for the sheet metal working industry, reports David Belforte, ILS Editor-in-Chief.
• Intl Automotive Body Conference & Expo open for registration
  The International Automotive Body Conference & Expo (IABC) is open for registration and exhibition. It will take place on November 5-6, 2008, at Michigan State University's Management Center in Troy, Michigan.
