• Laser Photonics wins industry innovation award
  Laser Photonics LLC, Lake Mary, FL, has won one of six Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission's industry innovation awards. The William C. Schwartz awards are given out to companies who have had a significant impact in their respective industries in a geographic area the commission serves.
• Intense appoints new VP, global product and market development
  Intense Ltd., a developer of next generation semiconductor lasers and integrated solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Berthold Schmidt as VP, global product and market development. As a key member of the senior management team, Berthold will spearhead the company's drive into new products and market areas globally.
• John Mankowski appointed manager of engineering, PRIMA North America
  PRIMA North America Inc., the North American subsidiary of PRIMA INDUSTRIE S.p.A., Torino, Italy, has appointed Dr. John Mankowski to the position of manager of engineering for convergent lasers.
• OEN names nLIGHT growth company of the year
  nLIGHT Corp., a supplier of high-power semiconductor lasers and high-performance fibers, is pleased to announce that the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN) has named nLIGHT growth company of the year at the 2008 OEN Tom Holce Awards for Entrepreneurship awards ceremony.
• Rofin-Sinar to show new products at EuroBLECH 2008
  From October 21-25, EuroBLECH 2008 will be opening its doors at the Hanover Exhibition Centre, and once again ROFIN-SINAR will use this opportunity to showcase a range of products and systems, specifically targeted at the world of sheet metal working.
• FMA, SME launch new Fabtech Mexico trade show
  The Fabricators and Manufacturers Association Int'l (FMA) and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) have announced plans today to launch a new trade show, FABTECH Mexico, to be held June 2-4, 2009, at the CINTERMEX exhibition center in Monterrey, Mexico.
• Van Boskirk & Associates now represents Mitsubishi Laser in Nebraska and Kansas
  MC Machinery Systems Inc. is pleased to announce its newest laser distributor, Van Boskirk & Associates. Van Boskirk will now represent the complete line of Mitsubishi Laser and automation solutions in Nebraska and Kansas.
• Amada opens newest North American Solution Center
  Amada America Inc. has completed work on its newest North American Solution Center in Schaumburg IL. The 133,000 sq. ft. steel, glass and marble structure is set on 10.5 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds.
• ES Technology sells Concept Laser machine to Airbus UK
  Following the announcement that it has been chosen by Concept Laser GmbH as the exclusive UK and Republic of Ireland distributor for Concept Laser's Additive Manufacturing systems, ES Technology is pleased to announce the sale of the first M2 machine to Airbus UK, which becomes the first UK-based customer.
• nLIGHT appoints Jim Haden as COO
  nLIGHT Corp. (nLIGHT), a supplier of high-power semiconductor lasers and high-performance fibers, has named Jim Haden COO. Haden most recently served as director of operations and product line development at Coherent Inc.
